AFI FEST 2013 Announces Four Iconic Film Selections by Guest Artistic Director Agnes Varda

Agnes Varda's New Five-Part Global Art Doc 'From Here to There' to Get VOD Release from Cinema Guild

The Cinema Guild has snapped up stateside VOD rights to Agnes Varda's new five-part documentary "From Here to There," which chronicles the French auteur's world travels as she surveys the global contemporary art scene, meeting with filmmakers and artists from an array of backgrounds. It will be released across multiple digital platforms later this year.

LACMA's 2013 Art + Film Gala to Honor Martin Scorsese and Artist David Hockney

LACMA, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, has announced that on Saturday, November 2, it will honor director Martin Scorsese and artist David Hockney for its 2013 Art + Film Gala. Also being celebrated is the first collaboration between Scorsese's Film Foundation, LACMA and the Annenberg Foundation to preserve four films by French auteur Agnes Varda.

Agnes Varda, Still Making Waves

Agnes Varda, irrepressible octogenarian -- “say I’ll be 85 in May” -- and filmmaker whose 1954 feature debut, "La Pointe-Courte," precipitated New Wave cinema, is artist-in-residence at the University of Pennsylvania this week, dispensing wisdom, teaching master classes and sharing some of her 33 films, including her 2009 cine-memoir, "The Beaches of Agnes."
