Karlovy Vary Film Festival Award Winners, Oliver Stone Gets Emotional

At the closing awards ceremony of the 48th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, Janos Szasz’s "Le Grand Cahier" (Hungary) took the top prize, the Crystal Globe, which comes with $25,000 to be split by director and producer (Sandor Soth). The film also earned the Europa Cinemas Label. (Full list of winners below.)

Karlovy Vary Film Festival Appoints Agnieszka Holland as Jury President, Honors Oliver Stone

The 48th Annual Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in Czech Republic announced today that American auteur Oliver Stone will be honored with the Crystal Globe Award for outstanding artistic contributions to world cinema. In addition, thrice-Oscar nominated Polish director Agnieszka Holland will serve as president of the jury.
