'Foxcatcher,' Starring Channing Tatum and Steve Carell, Reportedly Set to Premiere at Cannes

Bennett Miller's "Foxcatcher," which at one point was set to premiere at last year's AFI FEST and be part of the Oscar season, will reportedly have its world premiere at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival, which opens with another movie pulled from Oscar season contention, Nicole Kidman vehicle "Grace of Monaco."

Another Possible Oscar Contender Falls Out of 2013 Lineup (TEASER)

Sony Pictures Classics has announced that the release of Bennett Miller's "Foxcatcher" will be pushed back to 2014. In a statement, Sony Pictures Classics "supports the decision of the filmmakers to allow for more time to finish the film."

Sony Pictures Classics Books Bennett Miller's 'Foxcatcher' for Holidays

Word was that Sony Pictures Classics was releasing "Foxcatcher," Bennett Miller's follow-up to Sony/Columbia's Best Picture nominee "Moneyball," and so it turns out to be. SPC will open the film for Oscar consideration on December 20. Sony's Columbia Pictures co-financed the film with Annapurna Pictures' Megan Ellison ("Zero Dark Thirty"), who produced the film with Anthony Bregman ("Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind").

Bennett Miller's True Story of Olympian Murder 'Foxcatcher' Goes to Columbia; Stars Carell, Ruffalo, Tatum & Miller

Columbia Pictures has acquired US rights to "Capote" director Bennett Miller's upcoming "Foxcatcher." The film, from Annapurna Pictures, will also be co-financed by Columbia. Miller and Columbia also worked together on last year's Oscar-nominated "Moneyball."

Speakers at IFP's Script to Screen Include Bennett Miller, Leslye Hedland, Ry Russo-Young

IFP announced today that this year's installment of their popular writer/directors conference, Script to Screen, will be anchored by Oscar-nominated director Bennett Miller ("Moneyball"), and features up-and-coming directors Leslye Headland ("Bachelorette") and Ry Russo-Young ("Nobody Walks") as part of a Screenwriter's Roundtable discussion. The conference takes place March 17, and is presented in partnership with Writers Guild of America East, the New York Television Festival, and BookExpo America.
