Pressman To Produce De Palma Biopic Starring Pacino as Paterno

Producer Edward R. Pressman ("Wall Street") has optioned feature film rights to New York Times best seller "Paterno" by sports journalist Joe Posnanski. Ex-CAA partner-turned-manager Rick Nicita will also produce the biopic to star his client Al Pacino as Penn State football coach Joe Paterno. And with Brian De Palma ("Scarface," "Carlito’s Way") attached to direct "Happy Valley," the team behind "Carlito's Way" and "Scarface" is together again.

Filmmaker's Nightmare: NYFF Screening of De Palma's 'Passion' Hits a Digital Snafu

With technological evolution comes hiccups. Though not widely reported, the September 29 NYFF premiere of Brian De Palma's "Passion" apparently hit a disappointing snafu when the DCP (digital cinema package) of the film refused to play.

Entertainment One Hooks De Palma's 'Passion'

Entertainment One has picked up North American rights for Brian De Palma's sexy femme faceoff "Passion," with plans for a 2013 release. The psychological thriller, which stars Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace, played at both Venice and Toronto.
