Tom Clancy's badass CIA superagent Jack Ryan returns this weekend in "Shadow Recruit," the new film by Kenneth Branagh, whose career has taken an odd turn from Shakespeare to big-budget action thrillers. In select cities arrive the moving "Like Father, Like Son," warm teen comedy "G.B.F." and "Big Bad Wolves," Tarantino's favorite film of 2013.

Hirokazu Kore-eda's 'Like Father, Like Son' Is a Thing of Quiet Beauty

It's no wonder that director Hirokazu Kore-eda's trenchant and humane domestic drama "Like Father, Like Son" picked up the Jury Prize at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, and that jury president Steven Spielberg promptly bought the rights to a US remake.

NYFF Live Talks Panelists Include Claire Denis, Bruce Dern, Isabelle Huppert, Andrea Arnold and More

The Film Society of Lincoln Center has announced their second annual free-to-the-public NYFF LIVE series of filmmaker conversations. Participants include Claire Denis, (“Bastards”), Bruce Dern, (“Nebraska”), Isabelle Huppert, (“Abuse of Weakness”), Hirokazu Kore-eda, (“Like Father, Like Son”), and a special conversation on story creation and the artistic process with 2013 Filmmaker in Residence Andrea Arnold (“Wuthering Heights,” “Fish Tank”).
