As expected, Marvel has wasted no time ramping up production on "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," which is now underway in Los Angeles. Additionally, film icon Robert Redford is playing Agent Alexander Pierce.

Nick Nolte Rocks the House at 'The Company You Keep' Q&A, from Redford to Draft Dodging to Malick

Robert Redford is an impeccably controlled filmmaker who takes his art seriously. While none of his films have been as accessibly commercial as "Ordinary People," which won him the directing Oscar, this movie is Redford's best since "Quiz Show."

Oscar Watch: Why Actor-Directors Have the Advantage at the Oscars

What’s been overlooked amid all the wringing of hands, gnashing of teeth and what-were-they-thinking hysteria surrounding Ben Affleck’s alleged “snub” as a Best Director nominee, is the degree to which the director’s branch has defied Oscar history. “Argo” is a fine, sturdy entertainment, a movie everyone should be proud of.

SUNDANCE LONDON: Minnie Driver, David Harewood Table Read Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje’s Autobiographical 'Farming'

The inaugural Sundance London had much to recommend it over the weekend: the presence of Robert Redford; a concert by Rupert and Martha Wainwright; a giant white dome (the O2 Arena) in which to seek shelter from the non-stop rain while catching the pick of this year’s Sundance crop...

Sundance London: Robert Redford Talks Music and Fighting Tentpole Studios at Launch

In Park City, Utah, Sundance founder Robert Redford often prefers to keep a relatively low profile while the festival is in full swing. That certainly wasn’t the case in the UK today, which marked the inaugural Sundance London Film and Music Festival. Redford was a prominent presence throughout the day, in keeping with Sundance’s need to project itself – if only over four days – in a new market.
