What's Next for Ang Lee, From FX's 'Tyrant' to Eyeing Moses and 'Cleopatra'

Fresh off his Oscar win as Best Director for "Life of Pi," Ang Lee is fielding a number of potential and solidified upcoming projects. News comes today that the Taiwanese-born director is being eyed to helm Warner Bros.' Moses biopic "Gods and Kings," now that Steven Spielberg has dropped out.

Spielberg Taps Indie Colin Trevorrow to Direct 'Jurassic Park 4'

"Thrilled to have director on JP4, Colin Trevorrow, an exciting young filmmaker who understands and respects the world that is Jurassic Park," tweets @LeDoctor, aka producer Frank Marshall. Colin who? Well, in the honorable tradition of tapping a gifted indie filmmaker to take on a studio project, Marshall and exec producer Steven Spielberg have turned to indie writer-director Colin Trevorrow to direct "Jurassic Park 4."

Spielberg Developing Kubrick's Abandoned 'Napoleon' as Miniseries

This year's Cannes jury president Steven Spielberg has begun developing Stanley Kubrick's "Napoleon" screenplay as a miniseries. Spielberg, who collaborated with Kubrick on 2001's "A.I.," is working with Kubrick's family to bring the abandoned 1970s project to TV.

Yes It's True: Spielberg Is Jury President of the 66th Festival de Cannes

Like Clint Eastwood before him, Steven Spielberg has agreed to be the president of the jury at the Cannes Film Festival. It's his first time. “My admiration for the steadfast mission of the Festival to champion the international language of movies is second to none," Spielberg stated. "The most prestigious of its kind, the festival has always established the motion picture as a cross cultural and generational medium.”

Nate Silver Predicts the Oscars -- Statistical Frontrunners and Nominees with "more noise than signal"

"Political calculus" election guru Nate Silver is taking his third stab at Oscar predictions in the six major categories -- he previously predicted in 2009 and 2011 -- and using a no-nonsense approach. While Silver doesn't boast a perfect Oscar track record, he claims that his method of basing the winners off other awards given out in the run-up to the Academy Awards is "the best predictor of Oscar success" and the closest equivalent to pre-election polls.

Mississippi Ratifies 13th Amendment 147 Years Late; University Professor Who Saw 'Lincoln' Discovered Clerical Error

While the United States' 16th president Abraham Lincoln was key in pushing through the 13th Amendment that abolished slavery, it seems that the film "Lincoln" has called attention to an error in Mississippi law: the state never actually ratified the slavery-outlawing amendment.
