Roadside Attractions Takes 'In a World...' with Sony Worldwide

Triple-threat Lake Bell, who wrote, directed, and starred in "In a World..." which won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award at Sundance, has sold her movie to Roadside Attractions (U.S.) and Sony Worldwide Acquisitions Group (foreign). Roadside Attractions is planning a summer 2013 release for the film.

'Arbitrage' Marks New Trend of Releasing Pay-Per-View Earnings

Richard Gere's Bernie Madoff-esque thriller "Arbitrage" reportedly now holds the record for combined sales for a movie released concurrently in theaters and VOD, grossing more than $7.3 million on the big screen and about $11 million on small screens. It also marks a slowly increasing trend of companies (in this case Roadside Attractions and Lions Gate Entertainment) starting to reveal heretofore hidden pay-per-view sales figures, as VOD becomes more relevant to independent film profit and distribution.

Roadside Acquires Sci-Fi Thriller 'Branded' for September Release

Forget SKYNET or The Matrix. The real villain in our world is marketing, says Ignition Creative's Jamie Bradshaw, who co-wrote, directed and produced Roadside Attraction's upcoming sci-fi dystopian thriller "Branded" with Alexander Doulerain of Russia's Networks TNT.
