Cannes: Gerard Depardieu Is Well-Cast in Abel Ferrara's 'Welcome To New York' (TRAILER)

At the start of last night's premiere screening of Abel Ferrara's "Welcome To New York," projected onto a screen in a tent on the Carlton Beach, Gerard Depardieu revealed in a brief on-screen interview why he had agreed to play a character who, for all intents and purposes, is disgraced former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn.

Cannes Deals: Wild Bunch Is Mel Gibson's 'Blood Father'

Euro company Wild Bunch has added "Blood Father," starring Mel Gibson, to its Cannes market slate of titles to shop. Per Variety, distributors have "been salivating" at the possibility that the film could land in the market.
