EL James
Forget the Twihards, who were always an irritant to the male-dominated geek population at San Diego's annual Comic-Con. Women with Comic-Con badges in hand (they are sold out) will turn up in droves to see EL James, who is continuing her non-stop promo efforts on behalf of her bestselling '50 Shades of Grey' trilogy, which has already sold 16 million copies in multiple formats. The Brit ex-TV exec will hit Comic-Con this July for her first west coast signing appearance.

James will sign her torrid erotic books July 12 from 4-5:30 at the San Diego Convention Center. The ticketed afternoon event is free. The first novel introduces young lovers Christian Grey, a billionaire with a taste for S & M, and virginal college student Anastasia Steele. 'Fifty Shades Darker' and 'Fifty Shades Freed' further explore the couple's complex relationship.

Universal and Focus Features are developing a movie version of the novels.

While the signing itself is free, you will actually need a Comic-Con badge to get in the convention center. SDCC badges are sold out, and there will be no on-site registration.

--One of the many, many women who attends Comic-Con, whether it's for Twilight or (in my case) non-Twilight reasons.
