The 18th film in the Competition and Anderson's first Venice entry will be shown in the Sala Grande (Palazzo del Cinema) on September 1st at 7.00 p.m. Anderson is up against fellow Venice competition rookies Olivier Assayas, Ramin Baharani, Peter Brosens and Jessica Woodworth, Rama Burshtein, Daniele Ciprì, Xavier Giannoli, Harmony Korine, Terrence Malick, Valeria Sarmiento, and Kirill Serebrennikov, as well as veterans Marco Bellocchio, Brian De Palma, Kim Ki-Duk, Takeshi Kitano, Brillante Mendoza, Ulrich Seidl and Francesca Comencini.
The other new titles are: Ermanno Olmi’s "Come voglio che sia il mio futuro?," (Out of Competition – Special Screenings), tribute "Convitto Falcone" by Pasquale Scimeca (Special Event), and midnight horror film "Du hast es versprochen" ("Forgotten") by rookie director Alex Schmidt (Out of Competition).
developed "Come voglio che sia il mio futuro?" over five years with the students of the workshop "Ipotesi Cinema Formazione" in Bologna. They conducted hundreds of interviews throughout Italy on the hopes and fears of young people, which were selected and edited by Maurizio Zaccaro.
The Venice screening schedule will be online Wednesday August 8th.

Anderson's competitors are not just "Olivier Assayas, Ramin Baharani, Peter Brosens and Jessica Woodworth, Rama Burshtein, Daniele Ciprì, Xavier Giannoli, Harmony Korine, Terrence Malick, Valeria Sarmiento, and Kirill Serebrennikov". These are the directors attending for the first time at the Venice Film Festival in competition. There are also Marco Bellocchio, Brian De Palma, Kim Ki-Duk, Takeshi Kitano, Brillante Mendoza, Ulrich Seidl, Francesca Comencini.
