Focus Features' VOD label Focus World is partnering with Tugg to release Nacho Vigalondo's "Extraterrestrial" in theaters and through VOD beginning June 15. "Extraterrestrial" is set to play theaters in Brooklyn, Seattle, North Hollywood and Texas' Alamo Drafthouse cinemas, and will expand to wherever audiences demand it through Tugg (more details below). The film will be released on DVD by Entertainment One later this summer.

Vigalondo's follow up to "Timecrimes," "Extraterrestrial" debuted at Toronto. The alien-invasion story finds two strangers in Madrid the morning after a one-night stand. Their post-coital morning is disrupted by a suspicious neighbor, a jealous ex, and a mysterious flying saucer suddenly hovering over the city.

Tugg’s collective action web-platform will complement the established theatrical and VOD options by giving viewers in additional cities the ability to bring Extraterrestrial to their local theater. Through Tugg, an individual can create personalized theatrical screenings by selecting the date, time, and theater of their choice, and then spreading the word to their friends and fellow film fans. Once enough people commit to attending, the event will be confirmed and fans can host their own screening of the movie.
