Fox Home Entertainment Debuts 'Own the Moments' App, Features Date-Specific Movie Trivia

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment is debuting new mobile app "Own the Moments," which allows fans to get a specific-to-the-day movie "moment" featuring trivia and a clip or photo from a film, ranging from classic to upcoming titles.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment is debuting new mobile app "Own the Moments," which allows fans to get a specific-to-the-day movie "moment" featuring trivia and a clip or photo from a film, ranging from classic to upcoming titles.

Here's a sample of yesterday's June 21 moments in the world of movies: Hayley Mills (double) starrer "The Parent Trap" (1961) and Spielberg's Indy phenomenon "Raiders of the Lost Ark" (1981) were both released. Jane Russell was born (1921) and Christie's auction house in New York City sold Herman J. Mankiewicz’s scripts for "Citizen Kane" and "The American" for $231,000 (1989).

Thompson on Hollywood

Born and raised in Manhattan, Anne Thompson grew up going to the Thalia and The New Yorker and wound up at grad Cinema Studies at NYU. She worked at United Artists and Film Comment before heading west as that magazine's west coast editor. She wrote for the LA Weekly, Sight and Sound, Empire, The New York Times and Entertainment Weekly before serving as West Coast Editor of Premiere. She wrote for The Washington Post, The London Observer, Wired, More, and Vanity Fair, and did staff stints at The Hollywood Reporter and Variety. She eventually took her blog Thompson on Hollywood to Indiewire. She taught film criticism at USC Critical Studies, and continues to host the fall semester of “Sneak Previews” for UCLA Extension.
