Fox Searchlight Moves Up Oscar Contender 'The Sessions' to October 19

Fox Searchlight has moved up the limited release date of Ben Lewin's Sundance hit-turned-Oscar contender "The Sessions" to October 19, a week earlier than originally announced. The film recently screened at TIFF.

Oscar buzz is strong for both John Hawkes and Helen Hunt, who co-star as polio-afflicted journalist and poet Mark O'Brien and his sex surrogate, respectively. Director Lewin and William H. Macy, who has a supporting turn as a local priest, are also easily in the Oscar conversation this season. Read more from Anne Thompson about the film here, and check out the trailer below.
