UCLA 2012 TFT Film Festival Screens Selected Student Films

The UCLA School of Theater, FIlm & Television's 2012 UCLA TFT Film Festival will honor their Alumnus of the Year, filmmaker Julie Dash, and screen selected student films which will be given awards in a variety of categories, as chosen by their peers. It all kicks off June 8. Below are the selected students and their films. Here are more details.

2012 Student Academy Awards Selects Foreign Winners

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has selected three international student film winners, from 51 entries representing 29 countries for the 39th Annual Student Academy Awards competition. The student filmmakers will be brought to Los Angeles to join U.S.-based Student Academy Award recipients for a week of industry activities.

HBO/New York Int'l Latino Film Festival Call for Entries for Short Film Competition

HBO and the New York Int'l Latino Film Festival are accepting entries of original scripts for their annual Short Film Competition. The HBO/NYILFF Short Film Competition will award $15,000 and mentoring for a grand prize winner to produce and direct an original-scripted short film that will later be screened at the New York Int'l Film Festival and possibly on HBO.
