Cinedigm Entertainment has acquired Geoffrey Fletcher's directorial debut, "Violet & Daisy," for distribution in 2013. Fletcher, who won an Oscar in 2010 for his "Precious" screenplay, wrote and directed "Violet & Daisy," which premiered at Toronto 2011. The film stars Saoirse Ronan and Alexis Bledel as two pop-culture obsessed NYC assassins who accept a job to kill James Gandolfini.

Cinedigm's Vincent Scordino says the story "mixes gritty realism with pop culture fantasies." They plan a theatrical release to be followed by a VOD, digital and DVD rollout.
