Golden Globes: Best Song Goes To Burlesque, Score to Social Network

Will Trent Reznor's Golden Globe for best score be the first of many wins for The Social Network? Best song goes to Diane Warren's "You Haven't Seen the Last of Me" from Burlesque, her fifth nomination and first win. She thanks Cher for "fighting to get the song in the movie and keep it in the movie."

Will Trent Reznor's Golden Globe for best score be the first of many wins for The Social Network? Best song goes to Diane Warren's "You Haven't Seen the Last of Me" from Burlesque, her fifth nomination and first win. She thanks Cher for "fighting to get the song in the movie and keep it in the movie."

Warren also dedicates the award to her long-time publicist Ronni Chasen, who was shot in the chest and killed by a lone bicyclist in Beverly Hills. I spoke to Warren at the Critics Choice awards, which she lost to A.R. Rahman (127 Hours) and told her she could win tonight. Reznor also won the Critics Choice award.

Best animated feature goes to Toy Story 3 which is winning Everything.

Thompson on Hollywood

Born and raised in Manhattan, Anne Thompson grew up going to the Thalia and The New Yorker and wound up at grad Cinema Studies at NYU. She worked at United Artists and Film Comment before heading west as that magazine's west coast editor. She wrote for the LA Weekly, Sight and Sound, Empire, The New York Times and Entertainment Weekly before serving as West Coast Editor of Premiere. She wrote for The Washington Post, The London Observer, Wired, More, and Vanity Fair, and did staff stints at The Hollywood Reporter and Variety. She eventually took her blog Thompson on Hollywood to Indiewire. She taught film criticism at USC Critical Studies, and continues to host the fall semester of “Sneak Previews” for UCLA Extension.
