Michael Kenneth Williams in 'Boardwalk Empire'
UPDATE: Michael Keaton joins MGM and Columbia's "RoboCop" remake.  The actor will play Raymond Sellars.

"Boardwalk Empire" and "The Wire" favorite, Michael Kenneth Williams, was also recently tapped to join the project. So far rising star Joel Kinnaman (of AMC's tragically cancelled "The Killing") is set to play the cyborg cop first incarnated by Peter Weller in Paul Verhoeven's 1987 sci-fi action classic. The new film also boasts Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Jay Baruchel, Abbie Cornish and Jackie Earle Haley.

Keaton is "Robocop"'s final casting addition. Director Jose Padilha "Elite Squad") states;

“It is so great to have the last puzzle piece in place. It is thrilling that everything has come together to bring this innovative new vision of RoboCop to life. We’ve got a great script, a great cast, some killer ED-209’s and I can’t wait to get Alex Murphy back on the streets.”

The film will shoot in Toronto this September and is slated for an August 9, 2013 release.
