WATCH: Gory Clip from Netflix's 'Hemlock Grove' Shows Werewolf Transformation

Gore alert! It should come as no surprise, coming from gorehound Eli Roth ("Grindhouse," "Hostel") that the latest clip from Netflix's next original series "Hemlock Grove" is not for the faint of heart. The whole horror series is likely to be as eagerly gross as this scene. Produced by Roth, "Hemlock Grove" begins with a "Twin Peaks" premise: when a 17-year-old girl is brutally murdered in a former steel town in Pennsylvania, all of Hemlock's eccentric denizens-- and violent creatures-- are suspects.

The series, made for a reported  $45 million, was announced in March 2012, the same month the eponymous book by Brian McGreevy came out. The creators and producers of "Hemlock Grove" are just as thrilled with the freedom that the streaming platform is giving to its homemade series as were the creators of Netflix series groundbreaker "House of Cards." McGreevy noted that Netflix was an ideal venue for the show's form: "The architecture of Netflix's model, when you're writing a pilot and trying to get that sold, you approach story different than when you're looking at essentially a 13-hour movie." And on KCRW, Roth elaborated on Netflix's exhilarating long-form model.

All thirteen episodes of the show will premiere on Netflix on April 19th 2013.
