Just as we are all trying to get used to the idea of wraith-like Natalie Portman as a pregnant soon-to-be new mom, she turns up pregnant in a movie filmed two years ago that was recently picked up by IFC,
The Other Woman. Written and directed by Don Roos (
The Opposite of Sex) and produced by Marc Platt (
Wanted),
The Other Woman stars Portman as a woman trying not to be a wicked stepmom. See the trailer below.
Taking advantage of Portman's heightened profile due to her Oscar contending role in Black Swan--in which she stars as a ballerina opposite choreographer Benjamin Millepied, the father of her unborn child--IFC will release The Other Woman on exclusive premium on demand Jan. 1 and in theaters February 4th.

Does anyone know the name and/or song that starts at the 1:27 mark of the film.

I too read about the TIFF '09 mixed to bad reviews of this, but as I am a Roos fan, I'm glad things are working out to get this film a release. Ms. Portman's getting a whole lot of big screen time the first half of '11, between this and Hersher, Your Highness, Thor and No Strings Attached.

Dictionary definition:
1. the apparition of a person living or thought to be alive, supposed to appear around the time of his death
2. a ghost or any apparition
3. an insubstantial copy of something
4. something pale, thin, and lacking in substance, such as a column of smoke
so... what the heck do they have against this description for someone heretofore thin and ethereal in appearance? I don't get where it's an insult?
BTW Also saw this Don Roos film at TIFF 09 and though I'm a big fan of his and hers, found it a very incomplete and disappointing effort

Anne I always thought of you as a journalist with integrity...I am sorry to see how wrong I was.
That is an awful way to describe Portman or anyone else.
Shame on you.

I saw this premiere at TIFF in 2009 - under the title of 'love and other impossible pursuits'... I have been waiting for it to get picked up. Portman was phenomenal in this role - definitely worth seeing.

I don't know wha your problem is with Portman, Anne but wraith-like is a very insulting way to describe someone.
