Chris Tucker is in talks to star in the English-language remake of France's Oscar entry "The Intouchables." Earlier this year, "Bridesmaids" director Paul Feig was in talks to direct, with Colin Firth also circling the other leading role. The hit French film, co-directed by Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache, centers on the unlikely friendship between a wheelchair-bound millionaire (Francois Cluzet) and his ex-con caretaker (Omar Sy, who won the César for Best Actor). It was released stateside last May.

- Anne Hathaway has officially confirmed being cast in Steven Spielberg's "Robopocalypse," still in early pre-production. Hathaway is sworn to secrecy on her character but says, "If 'Robopocalypse' happens, I will be in it." Based on Daniel H. Wilson's sci-fi novel of the same title, the film follows a future humanity beset by a robot revolution led by malicious A.I.s called Archos. There are only two substantial adult female roles in the book (a senator and a soldier), but the script, penned by Drew Goddard, could differ from the source material.

- Meanwhile, director Adam McKay confirms that "Anchorman 2" will have musical sequences. The sequel was originally planned as a Broadway musical, and now songs from that uncompleted project will reportedly find a home in the film, which is currently getting rewrites by McKay and star Will Ferrell. As with the musical numbers in "Anchorman," "Step Brothers" and "Talladega Nights," the "Anchorman 2" songs will be recorded live on set. Watch the "Afternoon Delight" music video below.

- Sean Penn is in negotiations to star in "Prone Gunman," an adaptation of Jean-Patrick Manchette's novel by scripted Peter Travis. Silver Pictures' Joel Silver and Andrew Rona will produce. The story focuses on Martin Terrier, an international operative who is betrayed by his organization and must go on the run in a non-stop cat-and-mouse game across Europe.

This could be a potential action franchise, which could be a departure for Penn, but Manchette's works are known for their existentialism and exploration of politics and the human condition. This and future films could have more substance than the other over-50 action star Liam Neesan's "Taken" franchise.
