"Rise of the Planet of the Apes" (and upcoming "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes") scribes Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver will tackle the script, and given how surprisingly good "Apes" was, that's a good sign that "Jurassic IV" could be a welcome reboot and a huge moneymaker, not to mention a great use of the many advancements in filmmaking technology since the first installment made waves in 1993. The franchise has since earned just under $2 billion, and with 3D ticket prices the roaring dinosaurs could eat up some serious box office competition. Will Sam Neill return as the reluctant Dr. Alan Grant? Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Ian Malcolm?
I recently caught the American Cinematheque's Aero Theater triple feature of the "Jurassic" films. It was a joy to rediscover the dinosaurs (dated but still impressive; they had a cameo in "The Tree of Life") on the big screen and to watch the reactions of kids being exposed to the fictional island and its creatures for the first time.

if it's a reboot, they shouldn't call it Jurassic Park 4.
