Before its premiere at Berlin and North American debut at SXSW, Kevin Macdonald's documentary "Marley" has gone to Magnolia Pictures for U.S. distribution in theaters and on VOD starting April 20. Macdonald ("Life in a Day," "The Last King of Scotland") helms this first-ever family-authorized film about the life of Bob Marley. Ziggy Marley and Island Records founder Chris Blackwell exec produced; Steve Bing and Charles Steel produced.

Magnolia president Eamonn Bowles believes that this is the biography that Bob Marley, "a fascinating, towering figure in musical history," deserves.

“This documentary is the ultimate revelation of my father’s life," states Ziggy Marley.
