Michael Douglas, 65, has been diagnosed with a tumor in his throat, reports People Magazine. The veteran actor will undergo eight weeks of radiation and chemotherapy. We wish him the best.

His new film, Oliver Stone's Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, in which he clearly relishes reprising his Oscar-winning role as Gordon Gekko, opens September 24 after debuting out-of-competition at Cannes. The film will not play the fall fest circuit, although at one time its fall berth seemed to indicate an awards push. Fox is behind the film, assures producer Edward R. Pressman: "They had long decided that this was a mainstream commercial movie and therefore aside from Cannes not to take festival route."
