No Budget Film School August 20-21: Bellflower Case Study with Glodell & Grashaw

Thompson on Hollywood By Sophia Savage | Thompson on Hollywood August 11, 2011 at 5:50AM

No Budget Film School began in 2005 to give filmmakers the know-how that was lacking from other traditional schools and workshops, and to teach them how to make films with only the resources they currently have available--embracing their limitations to focus on the most important elements, rather than getting discouraged. Founder Mark Stolaroff informs the NBFS from his own no-budget experience, working at Next Wave Films (which supported the likes of Christopher Nolan), viewing thousands of micro-budget films and relationships with working directors.

- Evan Glodell & Vincent Glashaw from "Bellflower" will case-study their $15k film. As you know, "Bellflower" is taking the indie world by storm and looks to be the no-budget success story of the year.

- Peter Broderick will be joining me again as he always does to give another empowering presentation on Hybrid Distribution and Crowdfunding.

- Joshua Leonard will talk about his acting work on seminal no-budget films like "The Blair Witch Project" and "Humpday," and will also break down his directorial debut "The Lie," which premiered at Sundance this year and is opening this Fall.

- Matt Radecki, the prolific producer of films like "Marwencol," will discuss no-budget post production. He is the Founder of Different By Design, a post house that caters to independents
