Aronofsky and Paramount have reportedly been fighting over the film, which is set to hit theaters March 28, 2014. The source of conflict seems to be coming from mixed reactions from a series of early tester screenings to various demographics; Paramount wants to ensure crowds will show up in droves for the would-be tentpole (and thus give audiences a faithful rendering of the story), while Aronofsky is holding strong to his vision of the film.

The film also stars Anthony Hopkins, Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson and Logan Lerman. It's penned by John Logan ("Hugo," "Gladiator").
