Oscar Talk is back. The first podcast of the fall season with
In Contention's Kris Tapley runs for a good hour, so gird your loins, Oscar mavens, listen and weep. We cover the Cannes films, the summer releases, the Fall Festival entries and the end-of-year possibilities. We talk Meryl and Glenn and Malick and Chastain, debate the merits of sleeper
Warrior and admit that we both cried over cancer patient Joseph Gordon-Levitt in
50/50. Next week we'll post from Telluride. The award season begins.

Great episode of Oscar Talk. I remember at the beginning there was some concern that you and Kris agreed too often. I think it's great now to listen to the two of you politely spar about Warrior and Tree of Life.
Siskel & Ebert for the Oscar circuit.

Like I said, I feel that "The Help" have HUGE chance to win the Best Picture award at Oscar, just like what happened to "Crash" (which also wasn't on most critics’ ten-best lists) ....
I think that "The Help" probably won't win the Best Director award, though. Maybe "The Tree of Life" has more chence to win the Best Director award?
PS: For people who didn't read .... Anthony Kaufman also wrote that “The Help” may be this year’s “Crash” . (He disliked both films)
