In "The Interview," which has drawn blowback from North Korea, Dave Skylark (Franco) and his producer Aaron Rapoport (Rogen) run the popular celebrity tabloid TV show “Skylark Tonight.” When they learn that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is a fan, they score an interview with him, in an ill-advised move toward legit journalism. En route Pyongyang, the Cia recruits them as spies--their task: to assassinate Kim.
The screenplay is by Dan Sterling, with a story by Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg & Dan Sterling. The producers are Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver.
The holiday competition includes “Hot Tub Time Machine 2,” “Paddington,” “Into the Woods,” “Big Eyes” and “Unbroken.”
