The "will he or won't he" is now over. Director Sam Mendes is confirmed to return to helm "Bond 24."

The newest installment in the 007 franchise, starring Daniel Craig as the eponymous MI6 agent, is set to hit theaters in the UK on October 23, 2015, and in the US on November 6, 2015.

Scribe John Logan (who also wrote "Skyfall") has penned the script.

2012's "Skyfall," directed by Mendes, was the highest-grossing Bond film to date -- and the highest-grossing film of all time in the UK -- amassing $1.1 billion worldwide.
