'Beautiful Disaster' writer Jamie McGuire
Author Jamie McGuire's self-published novel "Beautiful Disaster" is getting the big screen treatment through Warner Bros. The studio picked up the rights to the novel, which centers on Abby Abernathy, a girl with a dark past who tries to reinvent herself in college. Her plan go awry.

The byline on McGuire's website is "Not Your Mother's Romance..." and one review calls the the book " insanely addictive. Beautifully sexy, beautifully intense, and beautifully perfect. Jamie McGuire has written a damn good book."

McGuire's novel sold over 200,000 copies before being purchased by Simon & Schuster last month. The novel will grow in popularity before it arrives on screen. Clearly, Warners harbors hopes that it will follow in the footsteps of such popular fiction as Stephanie Meyer's "Twilight," E. L. James' "Fifty Shades of Grey" and Suzanne Collins' "The Hunger Games." Let the casting speculation begin.
