Check out a TOH! exclusive behind-the-scenes featurette for "The Spectacular Now," starring Miles Teller and Shailene Woodley as high school sweethearts. A24's Sundance breakout arrives on DVD and Blu-ray next Tuesday, January 14.

We're fans of director James Ponsoldt's well-acted, earnest and tough coming-of-age romance. Woodley picked up a Gotham nomination for Best Actress back in October. Both Woodley and the screenplay are up for 2014 Independent Spirit Awards.

The video, below, highlights the co-writers (Michael Weber and Scott Neustadter, who also re-teamed with Shailene on the upcoming "The Fault in Our Stars") talking how the source material was an honest portrayal of the complexity of being a teenager, and how important that was to retain in the film.
