This year's AFI Fest will take place in Los Angeles from November 3-10, timed to coincide with the American Film Market in Santa Monica, November 2-9. This marks the festival's 25th year of screenings, to be held at the historic Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, the Mann Chinese 6 Theatres, the Egyptian Theatre of the American Cinematheque and the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. The fest will continue to offer free screenings (thanks to sponsor Audi), which were introduced by former festival director Rose Kuo, who has moved on to run the Film Society at Lincoln Center and the New York Film Festival. She was succeeded by Jacqueline Lyanga. A guest artistic director for 2011 is still to be named; David Lynch did the honors last year, and designed the Fest's poster.
