New York Film Critics Circle 2013 Winners (UPDATE)

The New York Film Critics Circle winners can be hugely influential on other awards races, especially in a year with so many hopefuls. "American Hustle"took home three awards and Oscar frontrunner "12 Years a Slave" settled for best director. Frontrunners Cate Blanchett and Jared Leto took their respective categories. Anyone wondering if Jennifer Lawrence would wind up with a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination can be assured that she will. And Hollywood/Indiewood icon Robert Redford will also land an Oscar nomination for "All is Lost."

AFI Fest Screens First Six Minutes of David O. Russell's 'American Hustle' -- 1.5 Times, to Be Exact (VIDEO)

An hour late, and after a couple of technical blunders, David O. Russell held court last night at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood. Hosted by AFI Fest, the evening was a special tribute to the Oscar-nominated "Silver Linings Playbook" director for his new film "American Hustle."

Shifting Oscar Line-up: Who Comes Out Ahead? UPDATED

UPDATE: Yes, it's official. Martin Scorsese's "The Wolf of Wall Street" will hit theaters December 25, as we expected would be the case when Paramount announced it would push back its Tom Clancy/Jack Ryan reboot "Shadow Recruit" to President's Day weekend in 2014.
