Golden Globes Nab Over 20 Million Viewers, Ten-Year High for the Show UPDATED

UPDATED: Add ratings to the high points of this year's Golden Globes. The show, hosted by the hilarious Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, had 20.9 million viewers tune in, with a 6.5 rating. This is a ten-year high for the show in terms of viewership, as well as matching its decade-long top rating on Sunday. Watch videos from the best and worst moments of the Globes, below.

WATCH: Martin Scorsese Interviews Wong Kar-wai on Oscar Shortlisted 'The Grandmaster'

On January 8, Martin Scorsese sat down with Wong Kar-wai at New York's Lighthouse Theatre to talk the latter's "The Grandmaster," shortlisted for a Best Foreign-Language Film Oscar. Incredibly, Wong has yet to receive a nomination from the Academy. But that could be rectified this coming Thursday, when the 2014 nominations list will be rolled out bright and early at 5:38am PST.

The VFX Bakeoff: Mixing Old School and New School

The Academy's VFX branch voted for the five nominees Thursday night, and while frontrunners "Gravity," "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug," and "Pacific Rim" wowed the packed Samuel Goldwyn Theater, "World War Z," "The Lone Ranger," and "Oblivion" put on impressive presentations. The remaining contenders acquitted themselves nicely: "Iron Man 3," "Elysium," "Star Trek Into Darkness," and "Thor: The Dark World." So who knows? There might be a surprise or two come next Thursday.
