Anne Hathaway's Three Awkward Confessions to Chelsea Handler, Needs Catwoman, New PR Strategy

No such thing as bad press? Anne Hathaway needs her Selina Kyle character in The Dark Knight Rises to rescue her after the triple-fail of Love and Other Drugs, hosting the Oscars with James I'd-Rather-Be-In-Class Franco and One Day, which is currently struggling to make back half its budget. She takes some pretty pictures, but might want to meditate on the mantra "less in more." She's better than her recent exposure suggests. It's doubtful that her recent rap on Conan (below) did her much good, either. Chelsea Handler interviews her for Interview Magazine:

In the Works: Dark Knight Photos, Eisenberg in Demand, Gleeson vs. IMDb, Soderbergh on Hunger Games

Just when we thought the super-secret Nolan crew on the Pittsburgh set of The Dark Knight Rises were going to succeed at keeping the lid on the production, new stills from the set have leaked out that show Catwoman tearing through some kind of riot on the Bat-pod. These photos come (literally) on the heels of the first official Warner Bros.-sanctioned still of Anne Hathaway as the new character, which was released this morning. And Total Film got Tom Hardy to open up about his masked role as Bane.

Dark Knight Rises Filming in Pittsburgh, Two New Biopics, Development Arrested

The Dark Knights Rises moved locations this week to start filming in the latest Gotham City stand-in: Pittsburgh, PA. “When you're making a large-scale action film that has to showcase the vitality and size of a large American city," director Christopher Nolan told The Pittsburgh Business Times, "it also involves a certain amount of disruption to that city in order to make the action credible on screen.” The film will pay homage to some Steel City landmarks with a Heinz Field crowd scene at a football game, where mass destruction will likely take place.

Brando vs. Crowe as Superman Franchise's Jor-El

Brando vs. Crowe as Superman Franchise's Jor-El
I find disturbing the idea of Russell Crowe playing the role originated by Marlon Brando at age 54 in 1978's Superman. Crowe, 47, is in talks to play opposite Superman Henry Cavill as his beloved father Jor-El in Man of Steel, reports Variety. Of course this will give Crowe a handsome payday. Maybe it's the similarities between the troubled Brando and Crowe that worry me. Both are fine actors with inflated egos and a weight problem who have walked dangerously close to identifying with their leading roles. Keeping track of who you are as a human being and who you are as a movie star is half the battle in maintaining career longevity.

Gordon-Levitt, Cotillard Confirmed for The Dark Knight Rises

Everyone seems to have already posted that Inception stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard would be starring in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises (Warner Bros., July 20, 2012). We assembled the cast so far. What's with leaving out Inception's Ellen Page if everyone else is on board?
