Comic-Con's Marvel Panel Stars 'Thor''s Loki, 'Captain America''s Evans & Johansson (VIDEOS)

Nobody understands the Comic-Con demo better than Marvel production chief Kevin Feige, who knows how to create material that will please these fans. In Hall H you can see that he gets it. He's giving them what they want. He's not shoving something down their throat with scads of advertising dollars, not wowing them with a great VFX trailer. He's bringing to life beloved characters who exist inside a well-considered consistent universe. So when Tom Hiddleston turns up in full Loki regalia and exhorts "the arena that is known as Hall H" to become his army--"where are your Avengers now?"--the crowd ate it up (see that video and all the panel videos below).

Watch New Comic-Con 'Hunger Games: Catching Fire' Trailer; Lawrence, Hutcherson Talk Making New Movie

For the first time Lionsgate brought "Hunger Games" to Hall H at Comic-Con. The original three books sold 50 million in the U.S. alone, and spent 200 consecutive weeks on the bestseller list more than three years. The first film is the 13th highest grossing of all time. The panel introduced new director Francis Lawrence, who replaced Gary Ross, and is directing not only "Catching Fire" (November 22) but the two "Mockingjay" films. The new trailer (below) looks strong as the story follows Suzanne Collins' novel.

Comic-Con: 'Game of Thrones' Panel Talks Red Wedding, Screens Video Tribute to Dead Characters (FULL PANEL VIDEO)

While many of us reporters at Comic-Con were looking for information and news about upcoming movies, the HBO "Game of Thrones" panel was unabashedly about sharing the past season with the 6000 fans packed into Hall H. They roared their approval for the shows two most popular stars, Emmy nominees Peter Dinklage and brunette Emilia Clarke. Showrunners Dan Weiss and David Benioff started things off with an In Memoriam clip (below), reminding us of all the characters we have already lost--and that there will be more to come when Season Four kicks off in Spring 2014.

Women Kick Ass at Comic-Con: Guys, Don't Mess with Michelle Rodriguez!

The actresses on the EW Women Who Kick Ass panel at Comic-Con started off soft and came on strong when moderator Sarah Vilkomerson asks them if they've ever experienced sexism on the job. Have they ever. It was like turning on a faucet as the women compared notes on surviving in what is still very much a man's world. They admitted that while they can act tough on-screen--and train hard to be able to embody what's on the written page--navigating the treacherous entertainment industry requires an equally valuable set of skills.

Comic-Con Visionaries Talk Realizing 'Gravity' and 'Amazing Spider-Man' in 3-D, Staging Fights in 'World's End,' Long Takes, 3-D and Future of Film (TRAILERS)

The high point of the annual EW Comic-Con Visionaries panel with Alfonso Cuaron ("Gravity"), Marc Webb ("The Amazing Spider-Man") and Edgar Wright ("The World's End") moderated by Anthony Breznican was an exchange on the aesthetics of long takes and bringing reality into fantasy on film. Wright launched a discussion about combining fights and effects in a reunion comedy about old chums (led by co-writer/star Simon Pegg and Nick Frost) returning to their home town for a pub crawl--and stumbling on an alien invasion.
