Emmy Hopeful Tatiana Maslany Returns in 'Orphan Black' Season Two (TRAILER)

Last year, an awards-season backlash seemed to be developing against the underdog BBC America clone conspiracy drama "Orphan Black," even though the frontlash for this absorbing Canadian production, which kicked off its second season over the weekend, continues to gather steam. Could Golden Globe-nominated chameleon Tatiana Maslany pull off an Emmy nod this year when nominees are announced on July 10?

Things I Learned at HBO's Emmy Party, from Sorkin's 'Newsroom' Status to Soderbergh's 'Glue'

HBO knows how to throw a good bash, and their annual Emmy after-party at the Pacific Design Center was a huge improvement on the sad and gloomy death-obsessed 65th Emmy Awards, which nonetheless drew the largest audience in eight years. Who are these mythical TV Academy voters who misled most of the Gold Derby Emmy predicters? I did terribly on my picks but came out ahead of many others, it turned out.

Emmy Watch: 'Scandal' Star Kerry Washington Graces August Vanity Fair Cover

It won't do the "Scandal" Emmy campaign any harm for Kerry Washington to be on the cover of the August issue of Vanity Fair. It's a pretty stunning cover photo by Norman Jean Roy. Contributing editor David Kamp wrote the feature interview with the actress, 36, who grew up in the Bronx and broke out at Sundance in 2001 indie feature "Lift."

Emmy Watch: Noah Emmerich Talks TV vs. Movies, 'The Americans'

Actor Noah Emmerich is best-known for his serious film work, from Todd Field's "Little Children" and Peter Weir's "The Truman Show" to Gavin O'Connor's "Pride and Glory." Immersed in Movies: Craft-Talking David Fincher's Emmy-Contender 'House of Cards'

From the very first moment that Kevin Spacey broke the fourth wall as the devilishly charming House Majority Whip Frank Underwood in "House of Cards," Netflix's first original TV series, we knew that we were in for "Richard III" in D.C. It's so David Fincher, who signed on as exec producer and director of the first two episodes, while writer-showrunner Beau Willimon ("The Ides of March") plotted the political machinations with transcendent glee. No wonder it's induced binge viewing and attracted Emmy buzz.
