Lionsgates’ “The Hunger Games” held the top spot at the boxoffice for the third consecutive weekend, taking in an estimated $33.5 million while slipping a slim 43%. “Hunger Games” is the first film since Summit’s “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1” to hold the top spot for three consecutive sessions.

Count on James Cameron. Looking at "Titanic" in its glorious $18-million 3-D restoration--released (also in 2-D) on the 100th anniversary of the sad night the great ship went down--I was reminded of what a huge accomplishment the picture was back in 1997.

'Angels of Death' Next Up for UK's 'The Woman in Black' Series

News

Daniel Radcliffe's "The Woman in Black" will continue with "The Woman in Black: Angels of Death," which Hammer Films, Alliance Films and Cross Creek Pictures say is not a sequel but the next installment in a series. The first installment went on to be the highest-grossing British horror film in the past twenty years. "Angels of Death" picks up forty years later with author Susan Hill's original story; Jon Croker is developing the screenplay. Hammer Films calls the project "a wonderful new tale every bit as atmospheric and terrifying as its predecessor 'The Woman in Black.'” While "Angels" is a continuation (see synopsis below), Radcliffe and director James Watkins are not currently attached to the project.

"Zodiac" writer-producer James Vanderbilt is hot. He wrote "The Amazing Spider-Man" (July 3). He is adapting Brit mini-series "Red Riding" for producers Steven Zaillian and Ridley Scott, and shares screenwriting credit on upcoming "Total Recall" and "RoboCop" remakes. This week, his "White House Down" screenplay was picked up by Sony.
