DGA Nominees for Outstanding TV Direction in 2012 Include 'Girls,' 'Homeland,' 'Hemingway & Gelhorn,' 'Hatfields & McCoys'

The Directors Guild of America announces the nominees for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in TV and commercials for 2012. Guild president Taylor Hackford says that TV is in "one of the most creative and fruitful periods in its history, and television directors are a critical element of that success."

FX Takes Rights to 'Homeland' Team's Next Drama Series, 'Tyrant'

FX has scooped up the rights and ordered a pilot for "Tyrant," the next project from "Homeland" executive producing team Gideon Raff and Howard Gordon. Like "Homeland," "Tyrant" has Middle Eastern themes, centering on an American family accidentally caught up in the political turbulence of the region.

Showtime Orders Welcome Third Season of 'Homeland'

Sunday night's episode of "Homeland" was a spine-tingler. The Emmy-winner is the best series on television right now, and its Emmy-winning stars, Claire Dane and Damian Lewis, deliver on their juicy material every week. Thus it's no surprise that Showtime has ordered up 12 new episodes for a third season.
