In the Works: Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg Follow Up 'This Is the End' Hit with Animated 'Sausage Party'

Sony and Megan Ellison's Annapurna are partnering on a presumably R-rated comedy from co-writers Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg (who together wrote and directed this summer's sleeper apocalyptic raunchfest "This Is the End"), Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir. This decidedly not-for-kids animated film will be titled "Sausage Party," and has Conrad Vernon ("Shrek 2") on board to direct.

Joe Dante's Long-Gestating Roger Corman Biopic Heads Toward Production--without Tarantino (UPDATE)

Joe Dante's long-gestating biopic on B-movie legend Roger Corman, "The Man with Kaleidoscope Eyes," may finally be headed toward production. Per the Dissolve, Corman himself is set to make a cameo in the film.

In the Works: Joe Wright and Chiwetel Ejiofor Join Forces for Big-Screen Version of 'A Season in the Congo' (VIDEO)

Director Joe Wright is in the works adapting Aime Cesaire's play "A Season in the Congo," which centers on the 1960 Congo rebellion and the assassination of political leader Patrice Lumumba, for the big screen. Chiwetel Ejiofor, star of this awards season's current title to beat "12 Years a Slave," is set to star as Lumumba.

IN THE WORKS: 'Mother of George' Director Dosunmu to Helm 'Fela Kuti' Musical Biopic for Focus

Focus Features is developing a drama about famed Nigerian musician/activist Fela Kuti, who was also front and center in the hit Broadway musical "Fela!" "Mother of George" filmmaker Andrew Dosunmu will direct "Fela Kuti," which Focus is describing as a "drama with music," as opposed to a fullblown musical.

In the Works: Weinstein Company Adopts 'Paddington'; Colin Firth to Voice Paddington Bear, Nicole Kidman Joins Cast

The Weinstein Company has scooped up rights to "Paddington," the first live-action feature based on the classic children's book character Paddington Bear, created by Michael Bond in 1958. The marmalade sandwich-loving bear, to be rendered in CGI, will be voiced by Colin Firth. Nicole Kidman has also joined the cast.

Warner Bros. has announced an expanded creative partnership with "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling. She will make her screenwriting debut with "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," the first in a planned series of new films, inspired by Harry Potter's Hogwarts textbook.
