Warner Bros. Wants Ron Howard 'In the Heart of the Sea' with Chris Hemsworth

Warner Bros. is fishing for Ron Howard to direct 19th century drama "In the Heart of the Sea," based on National Book Award winner Nathaniel Philbrick's novel. Chris Hemsworth is already on board to star as a sailor on the Essex, the doomed sea vessel which inspired Herman Melville's "Moby Dick."

Annapurna and Color Force Take Film Rights to Bestseller 'Where'd You Go, Bernadette'

Megan Ellison's Annapurna Pictures and Color Force have secured the feature film rights to Maria Semple's bestselling novel "Where'd You Go, Bernadette." Scott Neudstadter and Michael Weber ("500 Days of Summer") will pen the script, with Semple serving as executive producer.

Julia Roberts and Mark Ruffalo to Star in Larry Kramer's HIV-AIDS Drama 'The Normal Heart,' with Director Ryan Murphy

Julia Roberts and Mark Ruffalo are set to star in HBO Films' "The Normal Heart." Roberts' "Eat Pray Love" director Ryan Murphy will helm the project, set to shoot in New York City later this year. The film will be based on Larry Kramer's Tony Award winning play of the same name.

Ralph Fiennes' Slate Includes Russia Cinema Fund-Backed 'Two Women,' 'Budapest' & Dickens

The Russian Cinema Fund is co-producing several titles with monies totalling $6.5 million, among them Ralph Fiennes' "The Two Women." The film is an adaptation of Ivan Turgenev's 19th century comedy play "A Month in the Country," about a woman and her-step daughter, both of whom are in love with the same man. Russia's Horosho Productions, Germany's Film Base and France's Fluid are producing. The film will shoot in Smolensk with director Vera Glagoleva at the helm, and is slated for  2014 release.

Filming Begins for MacLaine and Plummer's 'Elsa & Fred' Remake: Cast Includes Brolin, Harden, Noth & Gilman
