Sam Mendes' Return to England with Bond and 'Skyfall' (via The Guardian)

Brit theater director Sam Mendes, having directed five incisive films about American culture including Oscar-winner "American Beauty," "Revolutionary Road," and "Jarhead," turned his sights to Britain's iconic James Bond franchise with "Skyfall." Immersed in Movies: 'Skyfall' Is Both Homecoming and Breakthrough

James Bond has always been about looking forward and back at the same time, but never more so than in "Skyfall," which is both a homecoming and a breakthrough for the 50th anniversary. In fact, it's all about exploring the old and the new. That's the central metaphor; it's embedded in every ambiguous moment. Judi Dench Talks Feeling "drunk with power" as M, Intimidated by Clint Eastwood

Daniel Craig and pseudo-Bond girl Adele (who sings the theme song) are doing their part in promoting the latest Bond film, Sam Mendes' "Skyfall." The song does add quite a bit to this latest trailer (below), reminding us just how dashing and badass 007 is (in case we've forgotten since 2008's ho-hum "Quantum of Solace"), while Craig also appeared on SNL to help remind us of some lesser-known Bond girls from the past few decades -- Diane Keaton and Ellen Degeneres, to name a few.
