"Welcome to the Satanic Cult Awards, ladies and gentleman!" was how host Conan O'Brien kicked off the MTV Movie Awards 2014 on Sunday night, and though it was a show filled with highs and lows, O'Brien was among the highs.

The annual Vanity Fair Hollywood cover has arrived in the mail. They've gone back to established movie stars for the front cover: those gorgeous faces include Oscar contenders Chiwetel Ejiofor ("12 Years a Slave") and Julia Roberts ("August: Osage County"), as well as global movie stars Idris Elba ("Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom") and George Clooney ("Gravity").

Grammys Score Big Viewership UPDATED (Plus Watch Roberts, Leto, Renner Presenter Videos)

UPDATE: Grammy viewership was strong last night, with early ratings suggesting it scored one of the top largest three audiences for the show in the past 20 years. Almost 30 million viewers tuned in between 8 and 11 pm (but because the show went until nearly midnight, these first numbers are still incomplete). At the moment, this is about on par with last year's show.

New York Film Critics Circle 2013 Winners (UPDATE)

The New York Film Critics Circle winners can be hugely influential on other awards races, especially in a year with so many hopefuls. "American Hustle"took home three awards and Oscar frontrunner "12 Years a Slave" settled for best director. Frontrunners Cate Blanchett and Jared Leto took their respective categories. Anyone wondering if Jennifer Lawrence would wind up with a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination can be assured that she will. And Hollywood/Indiewood icon Robert Redford will also land an Oscar nomination for "All is Lost."
