Cannes: American Pavilion Announces 25th Anniversary Programming Lineup

The American Pavilion has announced the programming for its 25th anniversary at the Cannes Film Festival. Guests will include actor Randy Quaid, screenwriter and filmmaker James Toback, comedic actor and "Nebraska" star Will Forte, director Stephen Frears, composer Cliff Martinez and many more, along with a special panel honoring film critic Roger Ebert.

Casting Watch: Olivia Wilde and Mark Duplass Get a Tense 'Reawakening' in Frankenstein-esque Tale

Olivia Wilde and Mark Duplass are signed on to star in medical thriller "Reawakening," with David Gelb ("Jiro Dreams of Sushi") directing and Jason Blum producing. The Frankenstein-esque story centers on a team of research students who unlock the secret to bringing subjects back from the dead, but with malevolent consequences.

Jane Campion's Top Nine Films on Criterion Include 'Contempt,' 'Seven Samurai,' 'Tokyo Story' and More

Criterion has posted Jane Campion's "Top 10" list, in which she ranks her favorite titles put out by the prestigious DVD and Blu-ray company. The list includes only nine films, but among them are Jean-Luc Godard's "Contempt," Federico Fellini's "La Strada" and Yasujiro Ozu's "Tokyo Story." Full list below.

Angelina Jolie Writes About Her Decision to Have a Preventative Double Mastectomy and Commitment to Family

The New York Times published an op-ed piece by Angelina Jolie this morning, in which she articulately explains her reasoning for undergoing a preventative double mastectomy, a process that has taken the past three months to complete. Jolie's mother died from cancer at age 56, and, after consulting doctors, Jolie confronted the reality that genetically she had an 87% risk of breast cancer, and a 50% risk of ovarian cancer. Now, "I can tell my children they don't need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer, " Jolie writes. Highlights from the essay below.

Independent Filmmaker Project Selects Ten Documentaries for 2013 Filmmaker Labs

The Independent Filmmaker Project has announced the ten documentaries for its 2013 Independent Filmmaker Labs, IFP's annual year-long fellowship for first-time feature directors. The selected teams will participate in three week-long sessions over the course of 2013, with the first taking place May 13-17 in New York City.

Cannes Market: Michael Nyqvist of the 'Millenium Trilogy' Stars in Dramedy 'My So-Called Father'

Actor Michael Nyqvist, who played journalist Mikael Blomkvist in the Swedish "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" films, has been cast in the dramedy "My So-Called Father." The Swedish production is written and directed by Ulf Malmros, and co-stars Vera Vitali.

Tribeca Film and Well Go Snap Up 'Emanuel and the Truth About Fishes,' Starring Jessica Biel and Kaya Scodelario

Tribeca Film and Well Go USA have announced the co-acquisition of North American rights to Francesca Gregorini's psychological thriller "Emanuel and the Truth About Fishes," which stars Jessica Biel and Kaya Scodelario ("Wuthering Heights"). The film premiered at Sundance in January.

IFC Films Nabs 'Adult World,' Starring Emma Roberts as an Aspiring Poet-Turned-Sex Shop Employee
