Tom Hanks Goes Digital with Yahoo! Animated Web Series 'Electric City,' Voices Lead: "No one gets rich" (VIDEO)

At Comic-Con last weekend, web series were part of the story, as Bryan Singer and Tom Hanks both unveiled new onlie ventures. Tuesday Yahoo! launches the first ten 4-7-minute episodes of Hanks’ animated dystopian sci-fi adventure “Electric City." The next ten installments will be released on July 18 and 19.

Oscar Watch: Indie King Woody Allen PBS Doc Streams Online; Sister-Producer Letty Aronson Talks Overseas Shoots

Sony Pictures Classics has kept Woody Allen's "Midnight in Paris," not only his highest-grossing film ever, but also the year's most successful indie release, in theaters for almost nine months. And SPC is still campaigning to win a few Oscars (the likeliest is Best Original Screenplay) to add to Allen's three wins to date.

Academy Partners with Everyone Counts for 2013 Electronic Oscar Ballots

Thirteen Films Make Online Premieres through Sundance Institute's Artist Services Program

The Sundance Institute is supporting the digital premieres of 13 films through its Artist Services Program, which was started this summer to give Sundance filmmakers and alunnae the opportunity to distribute and market their work.
