Comic-Con: Snow White and The Huntsman Details Arrive, Dueling Theron and Stewart, Gritty Images

We've been tracking the dueling Snow Whites and herewith share more details on Universal's Snow White and the Huntsman revealed by the filmmakers and cast at Comic-Con, along with some pre-production images and footage.

Saturday in Hall H at Comic-Con, Immortals director Tarsem Singh said the film is actually darker and "more hard core" than the trailers suggest. This Relativity panel shared some 3-D footage as well as a 2-D fight scene (you can see the trailer here). The crowd ate up the 3-D -- which producers Gianni Nunnari and Mark Canton call "Tarsem-Vision." Nunnari and Canton also produced Zack Snyder's 300, and this also shares CGI environments and ample muscles. Male viewers kept saying, "this is awesome," during the clips.

Comic-Con: Relativity's The Raven: Cusack on Psychology of Godfather of Goth Edgar Allen Poe

The Raven trailer, which premiered at Friday's Relativity panel, looks very commercial, very Sherlock Holmes, but with less humor and more of the gothic gore that goes with Edgar Allen Poe. The Hall H panel featured director James McTeigue (V for Vendetta), John Cusack (who plays Poe), Luke Evans (Inspector Emmit Fields) and Poe's romantic interest, Emily (Alice Eve). McTeigue compared the film's tone to Misery and Se7en; Cusack called Poe "the Godfather of Goth." Cusack also noted that he "saw some of Hunter S. Thompson in Poe..the unflinching ability to delve into the abyss."

Comic-Con: Relativity's Haywire Panel with Ass-Kicking Carano, Soderbergh Disses Retirement Rumors

Haywire star Gina Carano can clearly kick ass, judging from the trailer and clip Relativity shared this afternoon in Hall H. Director Steven Soderbergh and co-stars Channing Tatum and Michael Fassbender can all corroborate (Soderbergh, Carano and Tatum were at the panel; the film also stars Ewan McGregor, Antonio Banderas, Bill Paxton, Michael Douglas and Michael Angarano). Comic-Con Preview: The New (Amazing) Spider-Man, Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Masters of the Web UPDATE

As we gird our loins for this week's San Diego schlep to Comic-Con--which is not my idea of a good time, just getting into everything is an enormous chore--the revelations are coming fast and furious. Yes, we will see Cowboys and Aliens and Captain America there, and Steven Spielberg is making his first appearance with The Adventures of Tintin--as is another veteran filmmaker, Francis Ford Coppola, with his indie horror film TWIXT. DreamWorks/Disney is promoting Fright Night, with Colin Farrell on hand. Universal is presenting a panel on Snow White and the Huntsman, which hasn't even started shooting yet, but why miss an opportunity to highlight star Kristen Stewart, who's there anyway for Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn?

First Look at The Raven: Cusack Frighteningly Passable as Edgar Allen Poe

Until this first-look photo, it was difficult to imagine John Cusack, likeable and attractive, as the mysterious and macabre Edgar Allen Poe. But in the upcoming The Raven (Relativity, March 12, 2012), loosely inspired by Poe's life, Cusack looks craggy-faced and alarming as the American gothic literary genius. The film is shooting in Serbia for Baltimore circa 1846; Luke Evans (Tamara Drewe), Alice Eve (She's Out of My League and Brendan Gleeson (In Bruges) co-star.

New Immortals Character Posters Feature Luke Evans, Freida Pinto

Tarsem Singh's Immortals comes out in 3-D November 11. It stars Henry Cavill, Luke Evans (Zeus, pictured), Mickey Rourke, Freida Pinto (Phaedra, pictured), Isabel Lucas, John Hurt, Kellan Lutz, Stephen Dorff and Joseph Morgan. Singh is also directing Relativity's Untitled Snow White, so when Immortals premieres it could forecast things to come.
