Spike Jonze, Wes Anderson, Jonathan Demme and More Talk Movies at Upcoming Rome Film Festival

The Rome film Festival (November 8-17) is once again offering on-stage conversations ("Movie Talks") with an impressive list of actors and directors. This year Jonathan Demme, Wes Anderson, Roman Coppola, Spike Jonze, John Hurt, Álex de la Iglesia and Italian comedian Checco Zalone will meet the audience, and get the chance to talk about their relationships with cinema, commenting on their most significant film scenes and answering questions from the audience.

Rome Film Festival Sets 'Out of the Furnace,' 'Her,' 'Dallas Buyers Club' and 'Another Me' as First Wave of Competition Lineup

Jonathan Demme's New Film 'Fear of Falling' to Premiere at Rome Film Festival

"Fear of Falling," the latest by Jonathan Demme, will make its world premiere this fall at the 8th annual Rome Film Festival (November 8-17). Adapted from 19th-century Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen's "The Master Builder," the film is written by fellow stage scribe and actor Wallace Shawn, who plays the leading role.

Rome Film Festival and Ennio Morricone Honor Quentin Tarantino with Lifetime Achievement Award

The seventh Rome Film Festival will honor Quentin Tarantino with a Lifetime Achievement Award on January 4, at a gala screening of "Django Unchained." Legendary composer Ennio Morricone ("Once Upon a Time in the West," "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly"), who wrote an original song for "Django," will present Tarantino with the award. That's one way to get the filmmaker to show up!

Russian Epic 'Waiting for the Sea' to Open Rome Film Festival, Jeff Nichols to Chair Competition Jury

Bakhtiar Khudojnazarov's "Waiting for the Sea" will open the 7th Rome Film Festival on November 9. Russian director and screenwriter Khudojnazarov, known for "Luna Papa," spent six years creating and filming "Waiting for the Sea." The Festival, which runs until November 17th, will be presided over by screenwriter and director Jeff Nichols ("Take Shelter," "Mud").
