San Francisco Film Society Reveals 11 Documentary Film Fund Finalists

The San Francisco Film Society revealed today their 11 finalists for the 2014 Documentary Film Fund awards totaling over $75,000. The fund supports feature-length documentaries currently in post-production, and finalists were culled from over 200 applications. Previous Film Fund winners include Oscar-nominee Zachary Heinzerling ("Cutie and the Boxer") and Shaul Schwarz ("Narco Cultura").

San Francisco Film Society and Kenneth Rainin Foundation Award $425,000 in Filmmaking Grants -- Winners Announced

The San Francisco Film Society (SFFS), in partnership with the Kenneth Rainin Foundation (KRF), have announced the projects that will receive a total of $425,000 in funding--the largest amount disbursed to date--in the latest round of Filmmaking Grants. San Francisco Film Society Announces Hearst Grant and Djerassi Residency Screenwriting Winners

A couple of announcements on the screenwriting grants front today from the San Francisco Film Society. Alistair Banks Griffin has won the $15,000 SFFS/Hearst Screenwriting Grant to develop his screenplay for “Snow the Jones,” and Lea Nakonechny was awarded the Djerassi Residency Award, which provides a one-month all-expenses-paid writer's retreat in the Santa Cruz mountains to work on her script “A Sweeter World.” More info on the two winners, below.
