"jOBs", directed by Joshua Michael Stern, is a straight-forward biopic, following the visionary's journey from hippie college dropout to ruthless technology czar. The movie, which closed the Sundance Festival on Friday, features Ashton Kutcher as the Apple genius - a role he acknowledged was a big risk for him. At the premiere, Kutcher said: “I knew I was throwing myself into a gauntlet of criticism, and this became the most terrifying thing I have done in my life.” Many critics think that he deserves lampooning, but others praise the natural physicality he brings to the role.

A first clip for Sundance closer "jOBS" has landed. The film, which stars Ashton Kutcher as the eponymous Apple innovator, screens in Park City on January 27 and opens April 19 via Open Road.

Almost four weeks prior to its Sundance debut, "jOBS," starring Ashton Kutcher as Apple visionary Steve Jobs, has been scooped up for distribution by Open Road Films. Variety reports that the company is in "advanced negotiations" to distribute, and will release the film wide through the AMC and Regal theater chains, likely in the second half of 2013. UPDATE: The film will be released in April 2013.
