Sundance's NEXT FEST Is Coming to Los Angeles This Summer

13 Winners Join Sundance June Directors and Screenwriters Labs

The Sundance Institute has selected 13 winning projects for its coveted annual June Directors and Screenwriters Labs. They will be held at the Sundance Resort in Utah from May 26 through June 26. The Labs are part of 10 residential labs the Institute will host for artists this summer as they hone and shape new independent film and theatre projects.

EXCLUSIVE: Five Chris Marker Classics and an Agnes Varda Miniseries Will Stream This Summer

Attention cinephiles: SundanceNOW Doc Club has a juicy slate of streaming titles coming up. This May, the online VOD service will present a fantastic array of films from experimental director Chris Marker. Then in June, SundanceNOW will also host the exclusive US premiere of French auteur Agnes Varda's TV miniseries "Agnes Varda From Here to There."

12 Independent Films to Make Their Digital Debut via Sundance Institute

Sundance Institute's Artist Services program, which provides resident artists with exclusive creative opportunities, will digitally debut 12 independent films this Spring. Titles began premiering today, and will roll out through June 3.

Austin Film Society Joins Sundance Institute’s Expanding International Artist Services Program

Over the past three years the Sundance Institute has expanded the reach of its Arts Services Program, which largely benefits filmmakers who have either played the festival or participated in the Institute's various workshops. Now independent films from seven eligible indie-friendly organizations can also access Artist Services' digital distribution deals and discounts.

Sundance Introduces Its First Episodic Story Lab, Set for Fall 2014

To state the obvious, the world of episodic content is trending in a major way. Following on the heels of SXSW showcasing its first Episodic program, the Sundance Institute has unveiled an expansion in its Labs program to include the first Episodic Story Lab, set to be held in Fall 2014 at the Sundance Resort in Utah.

Sundance Institute Opens Call for Proposals for $125K TED Filmmaker Prize

The Sundance Institute and TED now have an open call for proposals for their second collaboration, which will jointly award $125,000 for a short documentary film project about the work of the 2014 TED Prize winner -- Charmain Gooch, co-founder and director of Global Witness.

Indiewire and Sundance Institute Announce Fellowship for Six Aspiring Film Critics to Cover the 2014 Sundance Film Festival

Aspiring film critics, take note! The Sundance Institute and Indiewire are now accepting entries through October 31 for their first partnered Fellowship for Film Criticism. Six fellows will receive a grant for expenses and other support to attend and cover the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, running January 16-26 in Park City. Funds will come from Sundance Institute’s Roger Ebert Scholarship for Film Criticism.

Sundance Institute Selects Six Creative Teams and Projects for New Frontier Story Lab

The Sundance Institute has announced the six projects selected for its New Frontier Story Lab, running October 23-28 at the Sundance Resort in Utah. Inspired by the New Frontier section from the Sundance Film Festival , and built on the Institute’s Lab model, the Lab specifically supports artists innovating the art and form of storytelling at the convergence of film, visual art, media, live performance, music and technology.
